POSITION: TRAINER FOR ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS AND ELECTRONICS

NATURE OF ENGAGEMENT: FULL-TIME
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Daniel Comboni Vocational Training Center is a registered institution under TVETA. It offers various courses: carpentry and joinery; cabinet making; plumbing and masonry; electrical and electronics; motor vehicle mechanic; welding and fabrications
The curriculum is designed to give students more practical exposure and it is guided by NITA CURRICULUM GUIDE
RESPONSIBILITIES
Integrate ICT and other appropriate media in training
To observe and ensure health and safety procedures are practiced
Observe and ensure a healthy, safe, and secure working environment
Deliver structured training sessions on electrical and electronic engineering topics,
Prepare and present course materials, including lectures, demonstrations, and practical hands-on exercises.
Ensure the practical application of electrical concepts through real-world examples and simulations.
Assess and evaluate student progress through regular tests, assignments, and practical assessments.
Provide feedback and guidance to students on their performance and offer advice on improving skills.
Create and maintain training documentation and course materials, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest industry standards.
Collaborate with senior engineers in the industry or other trainers to continuously improve training content and methodologies.
Ensure a safe and conducive learning environment, adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines.
Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and developments in electrical engineering to keep training relevant and current.
Assist in the development of new training programs or modules as required.
Should be experienced in NITA curriculum.
Any other duty assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/ DEGREE/ DIPLOMA
The trainer shall meet the minimum requirements as set by the TVETA including:
Diploma /First Degree Diploma in electrical engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution or have a KNQF level 7 in the domain and a certificate of an approved Trainers Professional Programme (TPP)
Have a Technical Teacher Training Certificate
Be registered and certified by TVETA as a trainer/assessor
REQUIRED COMPETENCES
Technical skills and knowledge in electrical engineering
Pedagogical skills (plan, initiate, lead and develop education and teaching)
Teaching in heterogeneous groups, participant orientation
Digital skills – Proficiency in computer applications
Ability to build harmonious relationship with students
Career Advice and Guidance in area of competency
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment
An excellent team player and collaborator
Excellent organisational skills
Able to work under pressure
Excellent time management skills
Responsible and reliable
Proficient in English and Kiswahili
